Over at the EffectiveICT.co.uk Forum, Andrew Field made an interesting post which brought my attention to the situation of VLE (Virtual Learning Environments) within UK schools. The Open-Source and pedagogically-sound Moodle VLE seems to gaining traction - and with minimal advertising!

As you can see, according to research by Becta, Moodle is the most popular VLE in use in secondary schools and the third most popular in primary schools. This makes it, overall, the post popular VLE in UK schools. If you’re interested in the ways you can use Moodle within your school, get in touch with edte.ch for some advice.
